1. 3 simple technology ideas for 10 year olds

Technology Ideas for 10 Year Olds

Technology is everywhere in today’s world, and it’s important that kids get interested in technology early. Here are some technology ideas for 10 year olds: 1. Get kids interested in computers by teaching them how to code.Write a simple software program that requires the user to type in something to make it work. The program can then return a link to a website of an idea you lay out for them. Children should be able to think up a lot of ideas on their own. Computers are also a great way for kids to get their hands dirty. This is a great way to introduce children to the idea of working on something themselves. Children should be able to design and implement the code themselves, or bring the idea to someone else on the team. If you have an Android tablet, download Codemotion. This software allows kids to learn to program by creating simple exercises.

2. Teach your child to make smart phone games. Get them hooked on social media life and allow them to design their own fun games. You can introduce your child to online communities, game development libraries or even coding. In a word, they should be able to understand HTML, CSS and JavaScript. Some examples of this could be: Age-appropriate social media games. You can have your child set their own game where they have to use a series of online tools to play. Children just starting out can use this for Instagram followings or texting friends while they play games. Make sure to do some soul searching to figure out which games your child is most interested in; some may give them just as much enjoyment as your favorite TV shows. One more great idea that ties in directly with social media is to set up a platform where they can share their drawings directly with other kids. They can then comment on their creations and perhaps even start conversations with other kids.

3. Show child the internet.

2. 5 piece puzzle apps for your phone or tablet

Technology Ideas for 10 Year Olds

To keep kids occupied in the car, download some puzzle apps. There are many puzzle apps for phones and tablets. Some of my favorites are: 1. Puzzles for Toddlers  2.Angry Birds Space is a fun game if you want to take your mind off of whatever is on your mind. Call it ‘virtual cell phone running', but the point is for kids to tame some mobile animals. These games are a nice way to keep a kid occupied and entertained for just a few minutes, and can be helpful in teaching them what we all know to be true, namely that no one is safe, and anything can and will befall anyone in any room!

Memes can be a fantastic way for kids to keep themselves entertained. They may be 4+ years old, but they still find a way to fit their clever sense of humor into their typical daily routines. You can create memes and share them with your children to keep a conversation going and encourage them to create their own memes that will just be hilarious! Here are a few of my favorites: 3.Ted Bellamy's Memes - This is a fantastic example of a meme gone viral and is a must read! 4.Life of Pi Memes - I guarantee your kid will love this one.

5.Dragon Ball Z Memes - If the kid has any sort of interest in the DBZ franchise, then they'll love this meme. And of course, Dragon Ball Z is only one of many famous franchises in the world of Japanese pop culture. It's not easy to find a set of creative memes for any specific niche. Thankfully, Meme Generator has done a great job turning SEO's Site of the Day into a meme generator. You can search through a collection of 20,000 memes organized by different topics.

3. Endless maze game apps for your phone or tablet

Technology Ideas for 10 Year Olds

These days, it seems like the only game in town is the endless maze game, where you guide your character through a maze while avoiding obstacles. These games are popular because they’re easy to pick up and play, but they’re difficult to master. That’s why I designed a game where you guide your character through an obstacle course made up of 19,999,999 cardboard boxes, with a goal of reaching the finish before the time runs out. Very simple, isn’t it? Well, that’s what this game is.

There are thousands of different levels, but I find that during my first try, I usually get stuck within the first few levels. The cardboard boxes move around the maze, leaving trails on the floor that your character must follow. The Xbox Kinect for Windows really helps in this, since it allows you to move around more easily, and since the game artificially ages your character, it’s easier to identify good or evil actions. If you try to beat the game too soon, you may pay too much attention to one box, and not look out for the others. Conversely, if you wait for too long without moving, your character may cross over multiple time bombs which will knock you back to the beginning of the level, beginning your entire new adventure over.

4. Internet travel sites to help your child learn about the world around them

Technology Ideas for 10 Year Olds

You can use the internet to help your child learn about the world around them. There are many websites that you can use to help your child learn about the world from the comfort of your own home. Here are a few of my favourite websites:

Worldreader

Disneyland Learning Zone

Goodnight Moon

Use DVDs to inspire your children

Assuming you have a DVD collection of your own, you may have noticed that when my 10 year old daughter was learning to ride a bike, she had a pretty difficult time remembering that we could ride outdoors. At one point we had to turn on the TV in the living room (because the stairs wouldn’t get any lower!) so we could show the lesson to her again. When joining her on a real bike tour, we used a Nick Jr bike and taught her the basics.

You can also try doing something that she cannot yet do, and if you want the full experience, you could hire a private instructor to show her the nuts and bolts of riding a bike.

You can also encourage them to learn by helping them play along with a game.

There are also online activities you can play with your kids. The Lewis Carroll game might be too easy for your children, but if you want even more of a challenge, try playing Carousel with them. This is a fun way to let them think creatively.

Conclusion: If you're looking to get your child started on technology, these are great options! They'll get things like hand-eye coordination, problem-solving skills, and even learn a thing or two about the world around them.
